Nature's Fury in Uttrakhand

Uttarakhand is fighting hard to save the lives of thousands who are still trapped or buried under the debris brought forth by the furious waters of Ganga. There are thousands who are dead and thousands who are seriously wounded.

The govt. of Uttarakhand has proved a miserable failure in attending to the needs of the situation. The disaster management of the govt is the biggest disaster itself. The Chief Minister rose to the occasion on the third day when most of the drama was over.

Now the govt. has been promised huge funds from the various states and the central govt has promised 1000 crores from the PM's Relief Fund Kitty. While this action is highly appreciated, yet it is not an unknown fact that the govt does not know to manage the funds. The Chief Minister is placing huge ads in the national dailies begging for more and more donations. This govt is only good at collecting funds and is a absolute untrustworthy as to the rightful use of funds. Most of the donations will be pocketed by the politicians and the bureaucrats and the officers, as and when they will get the opportunity.

I very strongly appeal to all by brothers and sisters not to donate any funds in the govt. kitty. We must generously keep these funds safe with us and use them to help rehabilitate the victims families after we get to learn about them through our media. This way the funds of our responsible citizens will go to the right people and will create an immense brotherhood and affinity.

Let the govt. use the funds collected from our taxes to rebuild the roads, bridges and culverts. Which also is a huge do-able task and can be finished in one year, if the inclination is clear.

Arun.
